Kate Bush, artist extraordinaire

Kate Bush rocks. Well, its not exactly rock. But she rocks nonetheless. In my book anyway. Did I HAVE to use THIS photo of Kate to start this blog with? Oh, God yes.
From "Babooshka"
Wikipedia: "Bush's music is eclectic, using various styles of music even within the same album. Her songs have spanned across genres as diverse as rock, pop, alternative and art rock. Even in her earliest works where the piano was a primary instrument, she wove together many diverse influences, melding classical music, rock, and a wide range of ethnic and folk sources, and this has continued throughout her career."

I first heard about her when she was first hitting the US and I was working at Tower Records in 1980. I was actually next door at Tower Posters, but we were all one family.

I had known Pat Banatar's 1980 "Crimes of Passion" album that featured a changed-tempo cover of Kate Bush's "Wuthering Heights". I liked Pat's version and the album a lot. Some of the girls at work turned me on to Kate's album with Wuthering Heights on it and I simply couldn't take at the time, Kate's five octave range. I brought the album back and got my money back. The girls at work were horrified. They explained to me that "Pat ripped Kate off on that song." I said, "Oh, but didn't she also get Kate a lot of attention by doing that?" They said, "Oh, well, I suppose so, but she ripped her off!" They weren't pleased it would seem.

Never for Ever album
I went through college. When I got out in 1984, I went back to Tower, and worked at their new Video store. It was then that I discovered the video collection of Kates, with many of her song I had heard before, including "Wuthering Heights", only now in video, displaying Kate's exceptional looks, style, mime, dance and singing skills. I was blown away. Now it all made sense. The more I looked into Kate, the more I found how talented and intriguing she was as an artist and a woman.

I acquired her "Live at Hammersmith Odeon" stage performance and "The Single File" video collection. I still have them and I'm very attached to them. The next notable video and song she did back then was with Donald Sutherland acting in the video, "Cloudbusting". A song (and video) I found emotional along the lines of Harry Chapin's Cat's Cradle song.
"Them Heavy People" Japanese single release
Interesting tangential side note, Pat Benatar played the character Zephyr in Harry Chapin's futuristic rock musical The Zinger. Set in a recording studio sometime around the year 2000, the production, which debuted on March 19, 1976, at the Performing Arts Foundation's (PAF) Playhouse in Huntington Station, Long Island, renamed the Harry Chapin Center, ran for a month and also featured Beverly D'Angelo and Christine Lahti.

My kids have known about my videos of Kate's for years as I wanted them to experience her artistry and ingenuity.

More from Wikipedia:

"Kate Bush (born Catherine Bush 30 July 1958) is an English singer-songwriter, musician and record producer. Her eclectic musical style and idiosyncratic vocal style have made her one of the United Kingdom's most successful solo female performers of the past 30 years. Bush was signed by EMI at the age of 16 after being recommended by Pink Floyd's David Gilmour. In 1978, at age 19, she topped the UK Singles Chart for four weeks with her debut single "Wuthering Heights", becoming the first woman to have a UK number-one with a self-written song. She was also the most photographed woman in the United Kingdom that year.

"After her 1979 tour — the only concert tour of her career — Bush released the 1980 album Never for Ever, which made her the first British solo female artist to top the UK album charts and the first female artist ever to enter the album chart at No. 1. In 1987, she won a BRIT Award for Best British Female Solo Artist. She has released nine albums, three of which topped the UK Albums Chart, and has had UK Top 10 hit singles with "Wuthering Heights", "Running Up That Hill", "King of the Mountain", "Babooshka", "The Man with the Child in His Eyes" and "Don't Give Up".

"Bush provided vocals on two of Peter Gabriel's albums, including the hits "Games Without Frontiers" and "Don't Give Up", as well as "No Self-Control". Gabriel appeared on Bush's 1979 television special, where they sang a duet of Roy Harper's "Another Day". She has sung on two Roy Harper tracks, "You", on his 1979 album, "The Unknown Soldier", and "Once", the title track of his 1990 album. She has also sung on the title song of the 1986 Big Country album The Seer, the Midge Ure song "Sister and Brother" from his 1988 album Answers to Nothing, Go West's 1987 single "The King Is Dead" and two songs with Prince – "Why Should I Love You?", from her 1993 album The Red Shoes, and in 1996, the song "My Computer" from Prince's album Emancipation.

"In 1987, she sang a verse on the charity single "Let It Be" by Ferry Aid. She sang a line on the charity single "Spirit of the Forest" by Spirit of the Forest in 1989. In 1995, Bush covered George Gershwin's "The Man I Love" for the tribute album The Glory of Gershwin. In 1996, Bush contributed a version of "Mná na hÉireann" (Irish for Women of Ireland) for the Anglo-Irish folk-rock compilation project Common Ground: The Voices of Modern Irish Music. Bush had to sing the song in Irish, which she learned to do phonetically.

"Artists who have contributed to Bush's own albums include Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, David Gilmour, Nigel Kennedy, Gary Brooker, and Prince. Bush provided backing vocals for a song that was recorded during the 1990s titled Wouldn't Change a Thing by Lionel Azulay, the drummer with the original band that was later to become the KT Bush Band. The song, which was engineered and produced by Del Palmer, is available for download and will be on Azulay’s upcoming CD

"In 2010, Bush provided vocals for Rolf Harris's cover of a traditional Irish Song entitled "She Moves Through The Fair". Harris who described the collaboration the "best thing I’ve done" is unsure of how to release the track."

Kate has since lost her range and last I heard is down to only four octaves, but she is stil and always will be a consummate and favorite, artist of mine.

Glenn Beck - loser extraordinaire

Rush Limbaugh's illegitimate child, Glenn Beck, claimed last Monday, 12/6/2010, on his radio show:

"What is that number? What is the number of Islamic Terrorists? One Percent? I think its closer to ten percent, but [I'm an idiot so don't listen to me]...the rest of the PC [personal computer?] world will tell you, "Oh, no" minuscule." He has also said of his ideas that he is "restoring history"; more like, taking us back, kicking and screaming, into the 1950s and who, really wants to revisit that nightmare? He also adheres to the benefits of being self-taught. All well and good, but too easily does one get off on tangents, learn extraneous and unimportant things, and turn, basically, into a moron. Not that you can't be self-taught, but it bares a warning and works best for those of above average intelligence. You see, that's WHY universities were created in the first place. Want more? Check this NPR article out.

GB is closely aligned with the John Birch Society although maybe he doesn't even know that, using his form of pseudo history. And if you are offended by this, find another blog. Birchers have been a bane on society for decades, since its founding in 1958 by Robert Welch his publishing of, The Politician. Anyway, back to our friend, Glenny.

Really. 10%? Of all Islamic/Muslim people?
Glenncarin Glenn Beckin'
Using Fareed Zakaria's math (in using Glenny's statement), on his Sunday show, Fareed found that there are 1,570,000,000 Muslims in the world. x .10 = 157,000,000 Muslim terrorists.

Glenny is wondering why this is getting no media coverage. I have to agree with Fareed. It is total nonsense.

The US Department of State says that in 2009 there were approximately 11,000 terror attacks worldwide. This includes terrorists that have nothing to do with Islam, and war zones, which really aren't terror attacks as they are in a war zone. Now consider it takes one hundred people to plan each attack, where in reality it took only a few, but for the sake of Glenny's argument, okay, we'll be generous. So, that would be 1,100,000 active terrorists in 2009.

But Glenny's figures would be one hundred and fifty times higher than that. Fareed asked terrorist expert and CNN's National Security Analyst, Peter Bergen about Glenny's figures. He said, "Beck's estimate is off by 1,000%." And, that its more like 0.01% of all Muslim's are terrorists OR insurgents.

Glenny's producer sent out a disclaimer saying that his statement was including also all those who were advocates of terrorism as also being terrorists. He said Beck was using the dictionary term which indicates that a terrorist is "a person, usually a member of a group who uses or advocates [or support] terrorism."

Fareed went on to say that, "Of course, the FBI and the State Department and most other organizations define terrorists in the more commonsensical, sense that they are well, terrorists, but never mind." Meaning by this, that a terrorist, is a terrorist; that is, one who commits acts of terror, is labeled as a terrorist.

After all, if in this country, someone says, go kill Jack, and someone kills Jack, they charge the murderer, not the speaker. We are after all, responsible for our own actions, over that of our speech, or worse, someone else's speech. Something, that in Glenny's case, is simply too bad. Though, I do not think he should be charged with a crime, it would be nice to see him taken off the air. Other people have lost their jobs, or shows on TV or radio for, in my opinion, much less.

What would it be like, if we had more intelligent talk radio, rather than so much banter and nonsense? Perhaps, when people voted, or spoke out, it would raise the consciousness and quality of life, of our entire country and therefore if even in some small way, the world?

P.S. you know? I realize some may find what I had to say as disrespectful. But, I've known guys like Beck and they're complete Asses. They come across even nice in public, but dig into their brains and you find oatmeal, mixed with kitty litter. This is the difference between a university degree, studying directed studies, and guess what, you're supposed to do studying outside of your curriculum. And as for Beck's comment about a college type not knowing something he brought up, I'm willing to bet, there's a lot more Beck doesn't know but he doesn't discuss that. As for self learning degrees, you lack much, even though it appears you learned a lot, because you learn a lot that isn't necessary, you don't build upon your studies properly, and you end up looking smart but talking junk. I've seen it time and again. Its insidious, because you look knowledgeable, but you can be worse than useless as you waste people's time, and you lead people and yourself, down useless pathways. No, this is not true of everyone, just most.

Sojourning at Hale's Pub in Silverdale, WA

I went to Hales Pub in the Kitsap Mall at Silverdale, Washington last weekend. We were getting some new tires on my son's car and decided to sojourn at Hales as I had been there, and he hadn't. We ordered the rock fish and chips (two piece). Actually, what happened, as he wanted to try something else, was that I told the bartendress (barback? I don't know), that I wanted the two rock fish and chips. She said, how many pieces and I thought she hadn't heard me so I said, "Two." Then she left to place the order with the kitchen.

They are very sociable at Hales, helpful, even educational. In asking about their many beers and ales on tap, including their own, they are gracious enough to have other breweries on tap too (but not Silver City brew- pub's ales, as they are like a walk out the door from there), we got many tastings (partially filled mini schooner tasters) and then decided upon a pint. Actually, I think Hales and Silver City ought to each have one tap for one another's brews, there could be a symbiotic relationship that could do them both good.

In good time, we received double orders of the rock fish and chips, much to my son's surprise as he never got to order. I admit, this to be my fault in misunderstanding what I had ordered. We laughed about it and he enjoyed the meal.

We saw a guy coming behind the bar, that didn't seem to fit in as a bartender and he was with another guy. I turned to my son and said, "I think that is Hale." He said, "The Hale, like the owner?" And I said, "Yes, I recognize him from his photos, from the blog I recently did on this pub." Mr. Hale was directly in front of us, pulling a beer, and so my son said, "Are you the owner, Hale?" And Hale said, "Yes."
Mr. Hale himself
We told him how much we liked the place. He smiled and said, "Thank you, we put a lot of work into it." He is a very nice, amiable fellow and pleasant to chat with. Then he turned around and gave the other fellow one of his brews. It turns out, it was a brewmaster from Port Townsend brewery. He liked what he tasted. Hale came back to pull another and we talked some more between the three of us.

I had to tell him that I had blogged about the pub recently and that people as far as Russia and Australia were reading about his pub. He smiled and seemed to like to hear of it. I later considered that he would probably have rather heard that many local people were reading it, but that too is true, I just didn't say that. I told my son that I should have our friend Sergei come by and tell them that he read my blog in Russia and just had to stop by for a taste.

Out of respect for the visiting brewmaster, we had another pint, of the Port Townsend Ale which was also very good. As I had indicated before, I've always liked Silver City's brews, their only true competitor in that shopping mall (I don't consider Red Robin a contender), but Hale's in my opinion is just a better brew. However, in a pinch I would be happy to drink either. Not quite so of the McMenamin's brews I had in Seattle yesterday. They too were good and my son especially like their winter brew, which was tasty. But I would rank them in the order I've just specified, with Hale's on top and Silver City in the middle.

I highly recommend Hales. So, stop by any time for a quality ale or two and try the food, it's quite above average on healthy pub grub scale.

Weekend Wise Words

The advent of the TV Politician

Before he became president, in 1959, John F. Kennedy wrote an article for TV Guide magazine.

"Television is a medium that lends itself to manipulation, exploitation, and gimmicks. Political campaigns can actually be taken over by the public relations experts who tell the candidate not only how to use TV but what to say, what to stand for and what kind of person to be."

When Kennedy decided to run for President in 1960, he had a famous television debate between himself and Senator at the time, Richard Nixon. Kennedy was a good looking, dynamic, personable guy. Nixon simply wasn't.

In the polls, Nixon lost the debate on TV; he came across as dour, darker, a little too much sweating, it didn't go over well. However, if you were one of those people who listened to the debate on radio, people thought in the polls, that Nixon won the debate. This heralded the advent of the TV Politician. And perhaps, the decline of American, if not, World politics.

Marshall McLuhan video on media

Are UFO's real? Actually, there is little doubt about it.

I just watched this nearly two hour video of legitimate people testifying about UFO sightings.

This, is not a joke. I've waffled on this for years. I don't believe aliens are cruising around, or we would have seen them more actively. However, its hard to dispute this kind of testimonies. And so many, and at such varied levels of security, professionalism and credibility.

Have you ever thought about, if there are really UFO's, how come people who would know, don't come forward and speak out about it? Well, now they have, since 2001, through this project. In the intro, they say that the past couple of President's have been kept out of the loop. I would like to know who was the last President to be IN the loop and did he have something to do with future Presidents or administrations being kept OUT of the loop?

After all the credible testimony given, two things stood out. 1) that of all the tens of thousands of alleged reportings and sightings, only one needs to be true, to eliminate the contention that none of this is true. And, 2) that for all those individuals that have signed government documents stating that they cannot speak out on this due to national security issues, if these are illegal operations that are not constitutional, and this group claims to have studied this in depth with legal council, then all of those restraining documents are null and void and no legal repercussions can be initiated against those individuals.

How fun is that?

Here, are those videos, from the UFO Disclosure Project, The Disclosure Project's Conference, May 9th 2001 at the National Press Club:
Now, if you watched that, it all sounds pretty credible. Then, watch the video below and well, okay, he gets pretty out there. However, its still possible as with a crazy person who sees a murder and tries to report it, that even if there is some degree of delusion, insanity, or charlatanism, there are a lot of credible people that may have something we should be paying attention to. If nothing else, its great fun.
If that last one gets you down, watch these: http://www.barackobamaufo.com/?p=1060>Barack Obama UFO. Yes, he may be a bit out there, but that doesn't mean he's wrong. Who knows? But, being aware, is more powerful than not being aware of what is going on around you. Maybe its all nonsense. Maybe not. But being informed is better than ignoring it completely, because... you never know.

Highlander trivia

I've always liked the Highlander film. And I really liked what Adrian did with the TV show spinoff. In many ways, I liked that better. The original film has rough parts and some problems, and Highlander II was, well, let's just not discuss it. Here are a few things that might explain some of the problems the original film had, from Highlander WorldWide:
  • Clancy Brown nearly turned down the role of Kurgan, concerned that his allergy to makeup would prevent him from wearing the prosthetics required late in the film.
  • Christopher Lambert spent time with a dialogue coach, developing an accent which sounded non-specifically foreign.
  • Non-American versions of this film include a WWII flashback sequence showing MacLeod rescuing Rachel (pictured left), where he tells her "It's a kind of magic". The scene is included on the "Immortal" edition DVD.
  • A number of scenes were lost in a fire. Footage includes a sequence with Kurgan fighting an immortal security guard named Yung Dol Kim in an office building. Kim, tiring of his immortal life, yields to Kurgan, who takes his head. CLICK HERE for images.
  • The Complete Director's Cut is available on video in the US, featuring all footage from the European version plus some still photos from the scenes lost in the fire.
  • Christopher Lambert had just barely learned to speak English when he took this role. The only other English-speaking film he had been in at that point was Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (1984), in which he spoke only a few words.
  • In the scenes following Connor taking the Kurgan's head, director Russell Mulcahy had originally envisioned an animated dragon with the Kurgan's skull battle helmet emerging from the Kurgan's decapitated body and challenging Connor again. Only after Connor had defeated this Ghost-Dragon would he have received the final quickening and subsequent Prize. This idea was eventually cut due to budget restraints
  • The final fight scene that takes place at the Silvercup studios (the sign is used in a few shots) used to be a bakery for the Silvercup bread company that had gone out of business a few years earlier.
  •  Silvercup studios

  • During the final fight sequence between McLeod and Kurgan on the roof of the Silvercup Studios building, cables can be seen in the foreground pulling the studio's neon sign down. After filming had been completed, the production discovered that they had done so much damage to both the set and the actual roof of the Silvercup studios building as to make re-takes impossible.
  • According to the computer screen where Brenda compares the signatures on MacLeod's various birth certificates, Connor's previous aliases were Adrien Montagu, Jacques Lefebert, Alfred Nicholson, and Rupert Wallingford.
  • Sean Connery and Christopher Lambert got along so well during filming that they called each other by their characters' names even when they were not filming and it was at Lambert's insistence that Connery and his character returned for the sequel.

Chaplains fear removal of "Don't Ask Don't Tell"? Really?

First, let me say that I have much higher respect for our fighting forces than those old codgers in charge of them, those Generals and Majors that make all the noise about this issue. I would think that any guy tough enough to go through the middle east and all their silly rules, could handle backing up, or being backed up, but a Guy guy or girl out in the field. That being said....

According to NPR:

"The possible repeal of the ban on gays serving openly is creating a dilemma for military chaplains opposed to homosexuality. Some say they may leave the military if forced to choose between their faith and their service."

So, Chaplains fear removal of "Don't Ask Don't Tell"? Really? More examples of more cowards in the Military? I'm becoming very concerned about how emotionally weak our military apparently is.

First, and I seem to have to keep saying this, although, it shouldn't matter, I am completely hetero myself. But I've always fought for those outside the mainstream, for their right to be different. So many who were against the mainstream of society, have given that society, great things. These are Human Beings, American Citizens, who have the inalienable right by birth, to be themselves and pursue happiness, just like the rest of us, no matter how much that annoys the mainstream. If you don't like it, too bad, because, that's how it is.

Normally I would say I draw the line at what I think people should do, when they are breaking the law; but when laws are as stupid as the mainstream, someone needs to change something. That's why, we repeal laws all the time. Because, from time to time, we wake up and realize, we'd been stupid and we update laws to reflect that. Remember, it was once, more of less, illegal to be Black; certainly, to be Black, and free. In some countries, over history, it was more or less illegal to be Jewish, or an "untouchable", or any other number of castigated situations.

Those laws needed changing, those people needed help, the mainstream needed chastising and to be forced to grow up.But did that stop us? No. The equal rights laws, just about killed many people. The South had a horrible time accepting that change. But they did. One day we just said, deal with it and then we enforced it. And now, things are pretty good for all around, white supremacists notwithstanding, but then, who really cares, they are fascists anyway, never a good form of thought to take. I don't have a real problem with elitists, as long as they deserve it; but racists are the elite, only legends in their own minds.

It always makes me sick, to hear of religious leaders who run away from the world, or reality, or people who seek their council and help. For a Chaplain to fear, Life, People, reality, the true depths of humanity, because they fear Gays, is ludicrous. What they want is a job that is easy to deal with.Sorry preacher, we're people. We ain't simple.

Guess what. Life ain't easy. That's what Chaplains are for you idiots! To help People deal with their reality in the military, not run away from it.

It really pisses me off to hear that military personnel are running away from something as wimpy and lame as having to deal with Gays. Really?! You're running away from Gays? Think about that for a minute, will you? Its not like they are like, White Supremacists, Fascists, Hate Mongers, Blacks. Gays should be a lark in the park, if you'll forgive the Gay imagery.

Religious leaders, which Chaplains are, are people who have chosen a profession where they are assigned to deal with tough Human, psychological, philosophical issues; and they are admitting that they, that their God, their own beliefs, are ill equipped to... handle people? No kidding? Wow, how wimpy is that?

Any Chaplain who is even thinking of leaving the Military because of having to deal with something they are opposed to, without being able to administer to their "flock", should be forced, by law, to end their career as Religious Leaders, and be forced to take a seat in their congregation and shut the Hell up from that point on. Because they are certainly not, capable of taking care of people.

If they want to continue in their job, then they need to learn how to deal with it, take it as a challenge, and HELP these people. And not just Gays, but those losers, those bigots, and hypocrites and narrow minded people, who cannot deal with someone different from them.

Granted, the military is somewhere you go to join up and travel the world, meet interesting, diverse, unique people, and kill them. But that doesn't refer to your own people. I mean, seriously, Gays are that foreign to you? What in the Hell homophobic, cut off, segregationist, delusional world do you live in? The military has for far too long, but one of the last havens for Christian homophobes. Because I have to wonder, how many of those against Gays in the military, aren't Christian?

Let me mention here, that other countries who have openly absorbed Gays in their military, have found that it is a non issue. So, what makes us so different? Cowards, in the military? From what I understand, its mostly the old "flockers" who are running the show that have issue with it. In asking most, MOST, young soldiers, it IS a non issue for them. Anyone that it IS an issue with has lived a secluded life and they need to be educated. Something the military has done throughout its history, educating its soldiers to do their job, no matter how much they don't like it. They're SOLDIERS, they FOLLOW orders for a living; so WHAT is the problem?

I mean, really? You can train people to actually KILL other people, but you cannot handle Gays? Then those in charge are completely incompetent.Wouldn't you say?

Here is what the government should do. Change the law. Gays are people. Deal with it, under penalty of Law. If you don't like it, fine, I'd suggest getting used to it, treating them like people. There are annoying Gay people, but there's more annoying straight people. You deal with them? Yes. So then, deal with Gays. As you do with, Blacks, or Jewish people, or whoever else it is you hate. Seems I'm mostly talking here to Christians, have you noticed that; and isn't that sad?

Wasn't it mostly (or all) Christians who were slave owners? Who brutalized the Jews? Who are most against Gays? Hmmm....

Once the law is changed, people will fall in line, eventually. If they don't, well, that's what, um, Laws are for? Just like Citizens with disabilities, people didn't like them either, but after a while, people accepted them until now, its considered uncool to look down on them. And so it will go with Gays. Actually, the rest of us are already there, its just the few, the deluded, in the military, that are having a problem with it. When I was in the service, they told me it was a microcosm of the larger culture.

I'm not seeing it. Its more like a microcosm of the dysfunctional parts of the larger culture. They called it the Perfect Society. Because they'd ticket you for not mowing your lawn if you lived in on base housing. Oooo, what a great situation that is, seems kind of a perfect Superficial Society, doesn't it? One that ignores real people problems beneath the surface.

Now I'm not saying Gays are disabled, but in this culture, they are treated like they are, as one of the last to be looked down upon groups. We go way out of our way to chastise them: no military service unless you keep secrets; no marriage, unless you choose who we choose for you (opposite genders), why are we so concerned about other people's lives? Next, they'll be voting, or smoking pot.

Its simple, like so many other issues. We just need to be intelligent, make a simple decision, change old ways, update our laws, seek to bring enlightenment to our country. Its in the beginning of so many little things, that leads the way to change so many big things. And we, in this country, need to change so many big things, in how we do them. We are a pretty screwed up country, in many ways. But we are, or have the potential, for being a truly great country. So we've always been told, anyway.

And I won't say, we could be a truly great country once again, because we have never been a truly great country. We have been one of the best countries in the world. But a truly great country, would not limit people's choices to the point of jailing them for minor infractions of codes, for being of a certain color, race, religion, or orientation. We would have stood up back in the beginning, and before, of this country, but certainly at the beginning, and said, no one should condemn someone for their race, religion or creed.

Or wait, we did do that. But, we didn't really mean it, did we? Or there wouldn't have been slavery. Would there? One thing that is great about our country is a grass root enforcement of what we think, rather than simply having to follow what the King says. But then, that is our downfall too, isn't it. Because in a culture where the lowest common denominator rules the roost, the laws still punish the innocent.

We need to grow up, act educated, even if we aren't. Or become educated, as we should, then act it. Because, we spend too much energy acting like poor, uneducated, childish prats. And if anyone should, if there IS a God, then the religious leaders should be the ones always to be leading the way. But they haven't. They aren't. And so, we see the situation as it really is: Godless, compassion-less, ignorant, terrified of our own citizens, because they prefer love and compassion in a way different than we do; in a way that is returned by their companion, where a healthy life is as reasonable to expect as it is in any heterosexual relationship. So, where's the problem?

Think about it. That's all we need to do. Just, once in a while, think about it. And try to act in a way that makes sense and isn't based upon what some ancient club from millenia past, long before the Dark Ages, dictates as a "good idea". Jesus had said that treating one another with kindness, compassion, is all a good idea. Where are we doing that here?

And let's fire any Chaplain who refuses to be helpful to someone coming to them for help. As happens with other situations in the military, let their decision follow them into civilian life and ban them from leading in any religion. Because, anyone that is willing, who's main point of being there, is to help someone deal with killing other Human Beings, but who can't deal with how that individual uses their emotions and sexual organs, or refuses to help someone deal with having to deal with someone like that, truly disgusts me to my core.
